Keyboard shortcuts and the search box
The search box at the top of every screen finds customers, jumps to screens, and runs actions; every shortcut is listed here.
Everything in Dialhop can be clicked. The shortcuts are there to make the day faster, and each one is shown next to its row in the search box, so you learn them as you go.
Open the search box
- Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K elsewhere, or click Search or jump to… at the top of the screen.
- Type to find a customer by name, number, or the detail kept about them, such as their car or their pet. Type the start of a screen's name to jump to it, or of an action to run it.
- Press Enter on the highlighted row to open it, Escape to close the box.
The box lists, in this order:
- On this page is what the screen you are on can do. On Knowledge, that is adding a website, a file, or text.
- Recent remembers the screens and customers you opened lately.
- Customers are the people who match what you typed.
- Go to lists every screen, including each Settings tab.
- Actions has Ask Eli, Send feedback, Help, the light, dark, and system themes, switching the language, and Sign out.
Ask Eli
Cmd+J (Ctrl+J elsewhere) opens Eli's panel or puts it away, from any screen; it is the Ask Eli button at the top of the screen. See Ask Eli.
Jump with two keys
Press g, then the second key within a second, when you are not typing in a field.
